About Nene Park Academy
Nene Park Academy opened in September 2011 securing a partnership with Swavesey Village College, Cambridge that began by supporting its predecessor school. Both academies are part of the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust. Swavesey achieved ‘Outstanding’ in every category in its Ofsted report in March 2011 and was 4th in The Sunday Times ‘Good Schools Guide’ for 11-16 state schools.
Ofsted visited the predecessor school, sixth months into the partnership with Swavesey, and concluded that ‘progress is improving rapidly’ (Jan 2011). In 2011, the headline figure of GCSEs including English and Maths was 45%, compared with 33% in the previous year.
Nene Park Academy moved into new and remodelled school buildings across a two phased development beginning in 2012 and finishing 2013. This was then added to with a new wing in 2018, in order to increase its capacity, due to the Academy growing in popularity and success.
Results continued to rise year on year reflecting the impact of whole sale changes that transformed education on the site. In April 2018, Ofsted judged the school to be ‘Good’.
This is a genuinely exciting time for the partnership. Having already made significant impact on progress and achievement, we are poised to establish the academy as the school of first choice, and a source of pride, for its community. The Trust is growing rapidly and the support, expertise and progression opportunities accessible to staff across the Trust are significant.
Alongside the educational impact of partnerships, the school has developed unique community partnerships including one with Peterborough United Football Club, with the school now hosting the first teams training ground as well as the Posh Youth Academy, who all attend the school for their formal education.
We are constantly looking for driven, enthusiastic, and skilled professionals to join our team in providing an exceptional education for our students.
