About Nottingham Academy
Nottingham Academy (Greenwood Road Site) is an all-through, co-educational school with provision for pupils aged 3-19. It is a school within a school, and Nottingham Academy as a whole has capacity for 3,780 pupils. The Greenwood Academies Trust provides education for pupils in eight local authority areas in England. Nottingham Academy was opened in 2009, as an amalgamation of three existing schools.
Values and vision
Nottingham Academy is traditional in its approach to standards in order to maintain a positive and respectful climate for learning. Codes of conduct are rigorously and consistently enforced, and pupils are expected to attend regularly and contribute to the life of the school. Strong relationships between staff and young people ensure a calm, orderly and purposeful environment where pupils can enjoy learning, make accelerated progress and feel safe.
Nottingham Academy celebrates the diversity of its pupils and encourages tolerance and understanding. The school offers Community Language courses, and previous students have earned qualifications in Arabic, Polish, Chinese, Italian, Turkish, Italian and Portuguese. Particular focus is placed on Urdu, with an extensive curriculum offered from Key Stage 3.
