About Oathall Community College
Oathall is a mixed comprehensive secondary school for students aged between 11 and 16. We are situated on the boundaries of the town of Haywards Heath and the village of Lindfield in the heart of Mid-Sussex. The college opened in 1938 and has a full spectrum of specialist accommodation and facilities including well-equipped classrooms, a music centre, Learning Resource Centre, a drama studio, a brand new dance studio and a large sports hall with public viewing gallery. Outside we have a running track, a full-size 3G artificial turf pitch which is fully floodlit and a fantastic five-acre farm. We have a rolling programme of building development and refurbishment. We are about to embark on a multi-million-pound building project for our science and maths faculty. Work is expected to commence in summer 2017 with the entire project due to complete by September 2018.
Our teaching and learning aim is simply to ensure the best possible progress and high attainment for every student. We offer a broad, balanced curriculum based on our knowledge of our students that challenges and motivates students to achieve their best. Academic and vocational success is complemented by an extensive extra curricular programme. Oathall prides itself on its excellent pastoral organisation and inclusion policy which is recognised as an example of best practice. Pastoral care is based around a house structure consisting of four houses, Discovery, Endeavour, Pioneer and Voyager.
Oathall works in a spirit of co-operation and industry with a deep respect for high standards of attitude and attainment. This, together with an excellent curriculum and friendly atmosphere, leads to the education of a first-rate set of well-adjusted and highly qualified young people. The strong and effective teaching staff, excellent resources and atmosphere of hard work ensure that Oathall children have the highest possible quality of learning.
My children were allowed to fly at Oathall. The school staff bent over backwards for the children. They were incredibly supportive especially with helping my children to find their own feet and academic routes. They could not have been happier here.- Parent of 4 students who attended Oathall.
