Values and vision

Oldbury Wells School places an emphasis on teamwork, with cooperation between students and teachers a top priority. The academy values hard-working and unrelentingly motivated teachers and hopes to ensure every member of staff can be a role model to pupils.

The secondary school hopes to deliver a engaging and stimulating curriculum that enables students to achieve their potential. Oldbury Wells has received specialist status in science on two occasions, and features eight modern science laboratories.

Ofsted report

“Teachers carefully plan varied activities that take account of students’ earlier learning and individual needs. Students are often given opportunities to decide their own starting point or level of challenge. Challenging extension tasks are used well to require more able students to think more deeply. Teachers carefully target questions, give students thinking time before requiring an answer and support them in articulating more complex answers."
