About Our Lady's Abingdon
Our Lady’s Abingdon (OLA) is a thriving and highly regarded Catholic independent day school for boys and girls aged 7-18 years. Founded in 1860 and set in pleasant grounds, we are just a few minutes walk away from the centre of the historic market town of Abingdon, and just 8 miles from the city of Oxford.
Christian principles and teaching are at the heart of OLA, although boys and girls of every faith, or none, are welcome to attend. Our aim is to develop the individual talents of each pupil, believing that every human being is created to become a unique person with gifts that need to be recognised and valued. • “I've never felt more at ease as a new member of staff in a school. OLA is rich with kind staff and welcoming students which creates the family atmosphere necessary to realise the school's ethos. As a teacher of 10+ years it is refreshing to find pastoral care so firmly at the centre of culture and practice, the benefits of which are evident the moment you step through the door.“
