About Outwood Academy Foxhills
Chief Executive Officer: Martyn Oliver
Principal: Darren Smith
Formerly Invenio Academy, Outwood Academy Foxhills reopened its doors in September 2014 at the heart of the nationally renowned Outwood Grange Academies Trust.
Having been placed in Special Measures by Ofsted in January 2014 and being the 7th worst attaining school in the country, the academy then embarked on a journey of transformation and in January 2016 were awarded National Support School status following an Ofsted judgement of Good with Outstanding Leadership. Since then, the Academy has gone from strength to strength and results remain well above the Local Authority average.
This progress is testament to the dedication and passion of our students, staff, parents, carers and governors. It also indicates the success of our innovative vertical curriculum, centring on a two-year Key Stage 3 and a three-year Key Stage 4. Aimed at personalising students’ learning, the curriculum empowers ambitious students to pursue accelerated routes whilst allowing others an extended KS4 to master their subjects and achieve the best possible results.
With a holistic view of education, we value vocational, practical, creative and academic abilities equally and all staff truly believe in our ethos ‘students first’, raising standards and transforming lives.
