About Parkside Studio College

Parkside Studio College is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Hayes, Middlesex. It is a free studio school supported by the Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust, a Hillingdon-based multi-academy trust that supports seven schools at primary and secondary level.

The school opened as a new provision in August 2012. A smaller than average secondary school, Parkside Studio College provides 300 places for students between the ages of 13 and 19 when fully subscribed.

Values and vision

Parkside Studio College has a unique approach to education, with learning and working both at the heart of what the school does. Students undertake daily work experience, to help them become experts in a pathway of their choice alongside experiencing a more traditional education. The school ethos is summed up with the phrase “learning to work, at work, for work”.

Parkside Studio College values its role in the wider community and teaches students to respect one another.

Ofsted report

“Most students, including those eligible for the pupil premium, those who have special educational needs and those who speak English as an additional language, make at least good progress in English and mathematics. The college’s current information on achievement shows that most students have been making more rapid progress since September 2013 [month of new principal joining]. Leaders in charge of subjects use information on students’ progress effectively to identify and provide additional support to those who need it.”
