About Peckover Primary School

Peckover is a large primary school in the heart of the thriving market town of Wisbech.

We are lucky to have a diverse and vibrant community where everyone feels safe and special. It is a happy place to learn, where children, staff and parents are valued and welcome- a place where we all work together to achieve the best for each individual child. We are proud that OFSTED recognised this in our school: ‘Peckover provides a very caring and supportive environment for pupils and families, and plays an important part in the local community.

Our children are immersed in a creative classroom environment, which is themed to our learning focus. Our integrated curriculum approach exposes children to rich real-life experiences, inside and outside the classroom, which develops a deep contextual understanding and love of learning.

We offer an irresistible integrated curriculum, rich in memories and opportunities. We believe children learn best when they are given first hand experiences; why show a child a picture of a river in a book, when they could put on their wellies to explore?

The arts and IT are central to our ethos in enhancing our curriculum and children’s enjoyment of school. As a result, we have high academic success.

In 2013 we took the exciting step to join the Brooke Weston Trust. This means that we benefit from being part of a larger and extremely successful academic organisation and having access to facilities and opportunities beyond a school’s normal scope.

Brooke Weston Trust has grown into a family of 10 primary and secondary schools throughout the East Midlands, united by our mission and values. More than 7,000 students between the ages of 3-18 are now educated in a Brooke Weston Trust school, supported by more than 1000 passionate members of staff.

The Brooke Weston Trust Way

Our Trust was formed more than 25 years ago with a simple and clear mission – to transform educational performance in all of our communities.

Working in some of the most challenging contexts, we improve our students’ achievements by making long term commitments to the community and championing new approaches to improve the life chances for young people.

Our members of staff are essential to realising this vision, and a happy, motivated and supported team will deliver the best possible experiences for our young people.

We place great emphasis on creating a supportive and collaborative working environment in all our schools, where all staff can share best practice through our colleague networks, as well as being able to access a range of first-class professional development opportunities through our Brooke Weston Teaching School Alliance.
