Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School

Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School is based in the town of Horncastle, in Lincolnshire. It is a secondary, state-funded educational establishment and is a proud forming member of Horncastle Education Trust. It educates students aged between 11 and 18. The school’s origins date back to 1327; however, officially it is said to have opened for the first time in 1571. At the moment, there are approximately 800 students enrolled at the school. Around 200 of them are on the roll in Sixth Form.

Our main aim is to provide first class learning and teaching opportunities to ensure that all students aim high and achieve success, setting them up for a rewarding future. We want our students to make the most of their abilities and to become adults who can make a valuable contribution to society over the course of their lives. We work hard to ensure the young people within our school are happy, safe and can flourish and strive to be the best they can possibly be. We are a happy school, our students enjoy their learning and staff enjoy working with them. Our success is built on the foundation of strong relationships and an ethos of support that underpins all that we do.

Year on year students achieve very strong academic outcomes and make excellent progress during their time at the school. This is as a result of the hard work of students and the highly skilled and knowledgeable staff who teach, guide and support our students.
