About Repton International

Excelsior is located in the City of Knowledge in the Town of Bandar Seri Alam, 15km. east of Johor Bahru in the south of Peninsular Malaysia.  The purpose-built campus spreads over 20 acres with a built-up area of 320,000 square feet, allowing for larger facilities and more space, enabling a smoother delivery of the curriculum.  The vast premises house world-class learning, sporting and recreational facilities.
 
The School is the flagship campus of the Singapore’s Raffles Campus Group and builds upon Raffles’ expertise and experience in operating and managing schools in Dubai, Singapore, India and China.
 
Excelsior opened for classes from Nursery (age 3) to Grade 8 (13 year olds) on 2nd September 2013.  We plan to open the Upper Secondary (grades 9 & 10 for 14 & 15 year olds) from August 2014 and, subsequently, High School (grades 11 & 12 for16 & 17 year olds).
 
We offer the Cambridge International Programmes; and has embarked on the process of gaining accreditation to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years and Diploma programmes.  From August 2014, students in Grade 9 will begin the two-year course leading to the Cambridge IGCSE examinations which will be followed by the two-year course leading to the award of the IB Diploma.
 
We are committed to excellence in education by striving to provide each student with opportunities to reach their full potential as lifelong learners in a holistic, challenging and supportive learning environment that will ultimately prepare them to play an active and responsible role as global citizens in a multi-cultural world.
 
In support of our belief in holistic education, all students follow a broad educational programme covering Academics, Sports and the Arts – our Three Pillars of Excellence. Alongside these three pillars, we offer an extensive Enhanced Curriculum Programme allowing students to participate in many activities, from guided-study groups, to follow-up work with subject teachers and acquire and practise what are now termed “21st Century skills”.
 
Across the campus, the language of instruction, communication and understanding is English. To facilitate the use of English, there is a wide-ranging English Language Support programme enabling all students to learn and improve their competence in the language.
 
In accordance with our belief that ‘Every child matters’, we place the homeroom teacher at the heart of our pastoral care to maintain an all-round view of students’ academic and social progress by receiving appropriate information on a regular basis from subject teachers and support staff and by having regular one-to-one conferences with the students. This truly holistic approach means that students, teachers, support staff and all connected with Excelsior contribute to the development of each individual.  By emphasizing the synergy between subjects, pedagogy, academic, personal and social outcomes, we aim to produce A* students and A* people.
 
The Home-School relationship is critical to student success.  Excelsior provides constant updates on student progress and activity beyond the usual “twice-a-year formal reports”.  The students’ learning journey is recorded electronically and is available through the Parents Portal on the website.   Under our ‘Open Door’ policy, parents are actively encouraged to visit the school at any time to see for themselves what is happening during the school day.
