About Royal College Manchester (Seashell Trust)

Royal College Manchester is a non-maintained college for further special educational needs, providing education and care for young adults aged 16 to 25 years with the most complex disabilities and health needs in the country. We prioritise person-centred learning and schooling for special education whilst offering disability support to each and every student. Our team works to prepare our students for life as adults, preparing them for employment, self-advocacy, and skills.

Our dedicated and skilled staff team provide highly specialised education to ensure each student’s needs are understood and met.

Our values revolve around our commitment to providing the very best education and support to students with complex learning disabilities and autism.

Our Special needs college is based in Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester, and is embarking on an exciting journey to build a state-of-the-art, specialist college in further education.

Seashell is a national learning disability charity supporting children and young adults with complex learning difficulties, disabilities, and additional communication needs from across the UK. We provide specialist education at our outstanding school and special needs college, together with residential and respite care, supported by our health, wellbeing and therapy services, community facilities, and services that we offer beyond our Cheadle Hulme site. We are proud that Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was our Patron until 2022.
