About Sacred Heart Central School
The school is located in Cootamundra, New South Wales, and is a co-educational K-10 school. Its aim is to foster the mindset that Jesus is the guide and that teachers are facilitators, creating a culture that challenges students to reach their full potential. It is the school’s aim to develop students as active and informed contributors to their communities.
The school has undergone recent refurbishments with many learning areas transformed to create 21st century learning environments. This means the integration of technology, more flexible learning spaces and opportunities for collaboration. The school is also undergoing improvements to allow better access for wheelchairs. A new IT lab was set to be developed in 2017.
First and foremost, student achievement and wellbeing are prioritised by the school. Learning is done collaboratively with students and parents. The intention is to develop a growth mindset in students. The school follows the NSW curriculum and offers multiple co-curricular and extracurrucluar activities. The formal and informal education provided reflects the school’s philosophy to create independent thinkers who contribute to their communities.
