About Scarisbrick Hall School
Scarisbrick Hall is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational all-through independent school with nursery and sixth form situated in Ormskirk, Lancashire. When fully subscribed, its Beautiful Beginning Day Nursery, pre-school, primary and secondary schools and sixth-form will provide places for 474 students. The school policy is to have no more than 21 children to a class.
The hall – a 150-room mansion built in about 1850 – has been the home of an independent school since 1963. After a number of changes in ownership, the school was bought by its current owners in 2010.
Values and Vision
The school strives to be a supportive and inspiring environment, allowing each pupil to shine as an individual. It wants children to grow as independent learners; to feel safe and happy; to value friendship and other people's opinions; and to understand their place in the school as well as the part they can play in a globalised society.
“Pupils’ attitude to their work is exemplary. In almost every lesson, pupils are consistently on task, creating a scholarly working atmosphere with an academic focus. A lively sense of purpose and a sense of enjoyment are supported by the excellent relationships pupils enjoy with their teachers. [Pupils] are often independent and creative thinkers who take pride in their work, present it well and carry out their own research when given the opportunity.”
