About St Francis Xavier Primary School
St Francis Xavier Primary School is a Catholic, co-educational school located in Lake Cargelligo in the Central West region of New South Wales. The school currently caters to approximately 30 students, from Kindergarten to Year 6, and 6 teaching staff.
Established in 1929 by the Sisters of St Joseph, the school follows the philosophy and mission of striving for "children's happiness, security, education and hope for a better world which is based on Gospel values. The school's slogan reads 'For God and Australia'.
The school provides motivating and engaging learning environments through the use of new and emerging technologies. This includes interactive whiteboards, iPads and desktop computers in every classroom.
Student education at St Francis Xavier's begins with their Religious Education curriculum based on the 'Treasure New and Old' documents and it executed through the Shared Praxis method. All another courses are developed by the NSW Board of Studies and covers English, Maths, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Creative Arts and PDHPE. The students can also participate in events occurring throughout the school year such as public speaking, music performances and various sporting carnivals at local, regional and state competitive levels.
