Vision and values
St Leonard’s Church of England Primary School wants to serve the community by providing high-quality education to children across Streatham and south-west London. The school nurtures Christian beliefs, promoting the values of faith, hope and love. Pupils are encouraged to achieve to the best of their abilities in an inspiring and caring environment.
In 2011, the school introduced the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to establish a creative and practical teaching approach. St Leonard’s encourages children to become active citizens through a student council, where issues concerning school life are debated.
“Pupils make good progress because of the good teaching, the effective use of assessment information to target support and because of their own motivation to succeed. As a result, by the time pupils leave the school, the proportion attaining the expected levels of performance is above the national average.”
