About St Mary’s Primary School
St Mary’s Primary School is a Catholic, systemic school and provides quality education for a co-educational K-6 student body. The school was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1903 and the Mercy values are still strongly embedded into the life of the school today. St Mary’s is located in the small town of Crookwell in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales and has a student enrolment of 122. Teachers committed to contributing to a happy, safe and nurturing school culture are greatly valued within the school community.
St Mary’s Primary School has an excellent range of facilities that feature a well resourced, contemporary library, an impressive computer laboratory and a new multi-purpose school hall. The attractive and welcoming classrooms all feature quality technology resources which are strongly utilised in the delivery of the school’s well-planned teaching and learning programs. The school playground is well maintained and features extensive grass covered playing fields and shady passive gathering areas.
Teaching and learning is the core business of St Mary’s School and as such, in addition to a comprehensive Religious education and values program, there is a strong emphasis on Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Information and Communication Technology, Physical Education, Health and the Arts. Staff members are passionate about providing dynamic and engaging curriculum and continually seek to demonstrate best practice and educational pedagogy.
