About St Mary's Primary School
St Mary’s Primary School is a co-educational, K-6 Catholic primary school, located in the southern New South Wales coastal town Moruya. The school is part of the Sacred Heart Parish and was established 160 years ago by the Good Samaritan Sisters. The school, set in a beautiful rural setting, has a current student enrolment of 250. Teachers who demonstrate a commitment to the spiritual and academic development of their students are considered great assets to the school.
Mr Michael Lowe
St Mary’s Primary School is an exceptionally well-resourced school featuring a wide range of modern facilities conducive to the achievement of quality student outcomes. Pride of place in the school is the modern ‘Performing Arts Hall’, an outstanding resource and focal point of the school’s many Creative Arts Programs. The school also features several brand new classrooms as well as a number of recently refurbished learning environments and all of these, including the school library, are rich in technology resources.
The spiritual and academic development of each student is achieved at St Mary’s through the delivery of a varied and balanced curriculum in which Religious Education features as a major focus area. Literacy has a very strong focus school wide, whilst all other key learning areas from the NSW Board of Studies Syllabuses, in association with the Australian Curriculum, are addressed through best practice teaching methods. Sport also features strongly as a major extra-curricula activity.
St Mary’s Primary School seeks to ‘Gather and Grow as One’, through being involved with their parish, having high expectations and celebrating as a community.
