Values and vision
Stanborough School believes in stretching children to their full potential by providing a challenging and engaging education. It places high expectations on its students, delivering high standards of teaching in the range of subjects that its broad curriculum covers.
The secondary school makes use of a house system to help create a family atmosphere and a sense of belonging. It sees itself as the heart of the local community, which helps the school to celebrate its success. The school newspaper, the Stanborough Times, presents news and views from students and staff.
“The curriculum offers a wide range of courses and qualifications which cater well for students’ particular needs and interests. Teaching has accelerated students’ progress because most teachers plan their lessons well and check that students understand what they are learning. Leadership and management are good because leaders, managers and the governing body have improved students’ achievement and the quality of teaching. This is an improving school.”
