The Cathedral College is a co-educational, non-selective, independent boarding secondary school, serving students aged 12-18. Located in Rockhampton, Queensland the Catholic school has approximately 1165 students (of which 180 are boarders) and 75 teaching staff. Founded in 1991, the college has a strong academic reputation in the area.

The crown jewel of the campus is the beautiful St Joseph’s Cathedral. Other facilities include a manual arts centre, a library, arts rooms, well-equipped science rooms, a cafe and as performance arts centre. Sporting facilities include a sporting oval, a swimming pool and gymnasium. The Boarding Houses are first class, with top of the line facilities in “boutique-style” buildings.
The senior school follows the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA), whilst also offering Vocational Education and Training (VET) classes. A brand range of subjects are taught, including drama, visual arts, home economics, early childhood studies, legal studies, engineering skills, furnishing skills and ancient history. The language the school teaches is Japanese.
The school encourages its students to live in faith. There is an emphasis on developing caring pastoral care between teachers and students. The school strives for academic excellence but recognises the need to educate students more broadly, preparing them for the modern world. The school expects students to have close, respectful relationships with staff. The school encourages students and teachers to get involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
