About The Corbet School

Located in the village of Baschurch, Shropshire, The Corbet School is a co-educational secondary school. The school has around 700 pupils aged 11-16, making it noticeably smaller than the average secondary school of its type. Previously known as the Corbet School Technology College, it adopted its current name in 2011, following its conversion to academy status. Although the vast majority of teaching takes place on-site, the school does make some limited use of off-site provision, for pupils with particular educational needs.

We offer a blend of traditional  values, success, courtesy and discipline with a real determination to achieve the highest possible academic standards, while offering opportunity to all.

The Corbet School wishes to develop confident, caring, enquiring individuals who are well prepared for the future and who become valued members of society. The whole school community is committed to fulfilling this aim in the following way:-

  • praising good effort and achievement

  • harmonious working relationships within the school communities and with other agencies
  • developing links with local, national and international communities
  • an attractive, safe and happy environment
  • a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum
  • high quality teaching
  • effective leadership and management

The Corbet School is renowned for its outstanding attendance. Many of our pupils achieve 100% attendance throughout the academic year, this is celebrated at our end of year, whole school assembly. The school is also proud of having a high retention of staff, with many staff being in post for over 10 years.
