About The Manor Preparatory School
The Manor is an independent preparatory school in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, which is within easy reach of both Oxford and many of its surrounding villages, either by car or by our own school bus network and growing fleet of minibuses. We currently welcome boys, aged 2—7, and girls, aged 2—11. From September 2018 we will begin the move to full co-education and by September 2021 there will be girls and boys in every year group, making The Manor a co-ed prep school for girls and boys aged 2 – 11. Children are welcomed into our happy and stimulating environment in which every child can develop academically and socially. At the heart of the school is a core of shared values, which reflect our ethos, and which permeate every aspect of Manor life. These values foster high standards of behaviour and achievement, support a framework of respect, promote self-confidence and provide a warm, harmonious environment in which our children learn and thrive. There are currently 375 pupils on roll.
Please see the website, www.manorprep.org, to gain an insight into the overall vigour of the school. There are over 90 clubs per week to help cater for the children’s enthusiasm for sport, music, art, drama and a host of other interests. Situated on a 9 acre site, The Manor boasts wonderful purpose-built facilities and in the summer of 2017 will begin further building, with the completion of a new Sports Hall by September 2018.
Each member of our staff contributes to the unique identity of The Manor, providing a network of support and teamwork which has become a characteristic of the School. Children are “challenged and cherished” according to character and abilities. Each child’s abilities are recognised, supported and developed. The Manor is proud of its close links with its families, and promotes and encourages the affectionate trust which forms part of school life.
