About The Nether Edge Primary School
Our school is situated in south-west Sheffield and serves the diverse catchment area of Nether Edge and Abbeydale. We have 301 children on roll but numbers are expected to expand as the number of places was recently increased to 60 per year group.
We cater for children from 3-11 from a variety of cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of social and educational needs. Over 90% of our children speak a language other than English at home, the majority being Punjabi speakers.
Our Key Stage 2 SATS results are well above average and have shown continued and sustained improvement in recent years.
We recently received notification from the Department for Education that we are in the top 250 schools nationally in terms of the progress pupils make between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
We recently developed and introduced new performance management and appraisal systems, which aim to ensure that our children continue to make outstanding progress. Further information on this and other priorities for the coming academic year can be found in the application pack.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection, in 2011, judged our school to be ‘Good’ with outstanding features.
