About The Snaith School

Thank you for showing an interest in working at The Snaith School. Our motto is ‘Infinity and Beyond’ as we believe our pupils and staff have limitless potential. Whilst our high expectations are non-negotiable, in return we offer high levels of professional trust and a supportive and happy work environment. We are committed to the professional development of our employees.

The Snaith School is a successful and over-subscribed 11-16 school with 930 pupils on roll. We are proud of our inclusive culture and strong pastoral care and feel this, as well as our reputation for excellent outcomes, is why we attract a significant number of pupils from outside our catchment area. Situated on the edge of the East Riding, we are easily accessible via the motorway and local road network and many of our pupils arrive by bus from surrounding rural villages.

Our pupils are polite, friendly and keen to do well. They respond well to inspirational and dedicated staff who they know care about them and their futures. At The Snaith School, pupils are offered a broad curriculum, which meets the interests and needs of all our pupils and prepares them for their next steps and working life. Never complacent, we are committed and motivated to provide the very best education for all of our pupils.

Recently we have chosen to join The Education Alliance, an established and successful Multi-Academy Trust which is committed to ethical leadership and whose values totally align with those of The Snaith School. By working in a trust that values the importance of schools being enjoyable, rewarding work environments in which all colleagues believe the demands of their job are reasonable and manageable, we know we will continue to recruit and retain excellent staff. The aim of the trust and The Snaith School is to be an organisation where people want to work and choose to stay.

It is an exciting time to be joining our school and we strongly recommend a visit so you can see for yourself what we have to offer.

Headteacher - Michaela Blackledge

Values and Vision

The Snaith School prides itself on both its academic reputation and its pastoral care. A strong believer in collaboration with parents or carers, the secondary school develops students who are happy, well-mannered and well-prepared for later life. Learning happens in and out of the classroom, with a selection of extra-curricular activities, field trips and productions to complement the varied curriculum that the school uses.

The Snaith School understands the importance of secondary school years in each child’s life, and uses this important time to ensure every student achieves their very best. The school specialisms in business and enterprise have allowed students to gain a wide range of workplace skills thanks to links with the business world.

Ofsted Report

“The Snaith School is a good and improving school. The headteacher is a strong, caring and visible leader who is held in high esteem by staff, students and governors. She communicates a clear vision and strong commitment to improvement. She had appointed new senior leaders who have brought fresh ideas which have begun to be successfully implemented. The majority of teaching is good and some is outstanding.”

I have never worked in a school before this, that recognised hard work, as much as Snaith does. I feel valued and always get help when I need it, because of this fact I do not think I will ever leave this school. I love it here and the staff make me feel appreciated
