About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible and hardworking individual to join our estates team, working primarily at Hill View Primary Academy, and when required, at two other Reach South schools in Bournemouth. You’ll be working in a team of highly skilled colleagues; two Site Managers and a Regional Site Manager, learning key skills and gaining experience in Site Maintenance, with the opportunity for career development.

You’ll be covering duties such as grounds maintenance, health and safety checks as defined by our compliance software, security of site and keyholder duties, and carrying out small remedial or decorating works.  At Hill View Primary Academy you will be working with a large network of teaching and support staff and you will work closely with the Headteacher and other Senior Leaders who will provide direction and guidance as needed.

The role is line managed by the Regional Site Manager and the Trusts Estates Operations Manager will offer assistance and direction. The role is to ensure that the pupils, staff and visitors have a safe and secure site; experience of working in a busy education environment would be an advantage but is not essential.

About the successful candidate

We are looking for people who have the following experience and qualities:

  • Building relationships with a variety of stakeholders e.g. school staff, suppliers, contractors and the Trust central team
  • Relevant experience of working in a similar role
  • Can work independently and use own initiative when required
  • Be able to display effective communication skills
  • Be eager to work collaboratively in a wider team, be adaptable and open to new ideas and practices
  • Ensure safe working practises and safeguarding practises are upheld
  • Able to deal with change and unpredictability positively with a “can do” attitude.
  • Educated to GCSE level in English and Maths and competent with basic IT packages

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young   people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Rigorous checks will be made of the successful applicant's background credentials, including an enhanced DBS check.
