Newman Senior Technical College, Port Macquarie is one of the largest senior secondary Colleges on the NSW North Coast with one of the highest Vocation Education and Training (VET) course enrolments in NSW. The College is a specialist facility providing students with opportunities to achieve their HSC and national qualifications.

We invite suitably qualified teachers to apply for the following position commencing 2021 school year: (Co2) Leader of School Evangelisation and Pastoral Care

The person appointed will have a permanent teaching position in the school and will involve a teaching load commencing 2021 school year.

This position is part of the College Executive and is responsible for the curriculum aspects of the Religious Education department


Co2 point “Leaders of” positions are offered a contract within a set 3-year cycle as co-ordinator. The coordinator position is offered for the 2021 school year to align with the end of the current 3 year cycle 2019 -2021. The successful incumbent is eligible to reapply at the time.


Applicants must:

 have a current NSW Working with Children Check

 NESA Accreditation Proficient Teacher

 provide evidence of qualifications in a specialised faculty

 a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school.

 able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community.

 a willingness to contribute positively as part of a professional learning community.

 Teachers who are appointed to a leadership position, whether new to the position or applying to be re-appointed, should have begun, or will begin to make a commitment to complete the requirements of Accreditation To Work Teach and Lead, Category E, during this next triennium cycle.

Newman Senior Technical College is a mixed, non-selective, Roman Catholic, independent senior secondary school in New South Wales, serving students in Year 11 and 12. The secondary school is situated in Port Macquarie. 

Founded in 1979 and formerly St Joseph’s Vocational College, the school was opened in response to local needs. In 2006, the school became the nation’s first and largest Australian Technical College. In 2009, it changed its name to Newman Senior Technical College.

Newman Senior Technical College offers a wide range of modern learning facilities, including a 400-seat hall, a multi-purpose centre, expansive sports fields, canteens and cafes, a learning resource centre, a computer block, a careers room, and a wide range of industry-focused blocks, including a marine discovery centre, a metal and engineering room, a construction room and hospitality kitchens.

Curriculum

Neman Senior Technical College boasts a wide range of vocational, career-led training and industry standard equipment for students to use in their learning. Pupils also benefit from access to dedicated careers development team, who are there to help them reach their specific career goals. Courses taught include hospitality, retail, metal and engineering and financial services.
