As a major provider of both further and higher education provision in the West Midlands, our aim is simple – to make significant contributions to the local and regional economies and beyond, by providing high quality vocational education and training for individuals, employers and the wider community. As such, our provision is designed to be up to date, flexible, accessible and responsive to all our customers’ needs, serving approximately 7,000 students across two main campuses, several satellite centres and on work based programmes. We have state of the art facilities and an excellent learning/working environment, including a sports complex, aeronautical and aviation centre, arts centre and specialist vocational workshops.

At present we employ 269 salaried teaching and assessing staff. We also employ 256 administrative staff, 38 managers and approximately 200 hourly paid teachers and assessors. Solihull College and University Centre is rightly proud of its reputation within the sector and with employers and the community if serves. These are challenging times for the education sector and the College continues to maintain a strong financial position enabling it to invest in its human and physical resources to provide outstanding opportunities for its learners. We recognise that, ultimately it is out people, their drive, commitment and vision that will take us in the direction we want to go.

18.5 hours per week          Post No: LB025

Additional hourly paid work will be available across 4 days

We are looking for an experienced Lecturer to contribute to a well-established team in the delivery of high quality Public Service programmes. You will be required to teach on Levels 1 to 3. Experience of teaching on BTEC programmes would be an advantage. You will also be a personal tutor. A Degree or relevant vocational qualification is essential. You must also hold, or be prepared to work towards, a Level 5 teaching qualification.
