We are part of the Bushey St James Academy Trust with Bushey Meads secondary school. We have families attending our school both from the local community and from further afield and draw children from a wide spectrum of social and economic backgrounds including social housing, a traveller site, Forces families and private housing.

The staff, Governors and children are all extremely friendly and supportive.  The school offers great opportunities for staff development and is on an exciting journey towards excellence.

Do you have the necessary skills and experience to support a pupil 1:1 with some challenging behaviour and learning difficulties?  We are looking for a behaviour support assistant with:

• A proven record of excellent classroom practice with the ability to stay calm under pressure

• A commitment to make learning fun and exciting

• An ability to support the school in overcoming barriers to learning

• A sense of humour and can work as part of a team with an ability to create positive relationships

The position is for 30 hours per week, term-time only and will be supporting a Year 5 pupil. The post is a temporary contract linked to a specific student whilst they are attending the school. The salary for this post is APT & C Points 5 - 6 plus London Fringe (currently £19,312pa - £19,698 p.a. + £898 p.a.), paid pro rata for the hours worked, and is dependent on qualifications and experience.  The actual pro-rata salary range is £13,002 p.a. - £13,262 p.a. + £604 p.a.

Applicants should be educated to post 16 level or above and have a high degree of common sense.  Experience of working with children and the willingness to undertake suitable training is essential.

Heavily subsidised childcare at our Little Gems Nursery is offered as a package with all posts within Bushey St James Trust, plus free gym membership and an Employee Assistance Programme for support on personal matters.

Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Rebecca Tregear should you wish to discuss the role further and visits to the school are positively encouraged. To apply for this post please send in a completed application form along with a covering letter, addressed to Mrs Rebecca Tregear, Headteacher.  Your completed application form and letter should be returned to the school by post or by email to:  head@littlereddings.org.uk by the deadline.  Please note that CVs and late applications will not be accepted and you must have the right to work in the UK.

We reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date so early applications are encouraged.
