Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, patient and self-motivated teaching assistant to support a year 5 pupil with significant cognition and learning needs for 18 hours a week, on a fixed term basis until July 2021. 

The Mablethorpe Primary Academy is situated on the edge of the seaside town of Mablethorpe. We have a purpose built Foundation Stage unit, a fully equipped hall, two ICT Suites and spacious grounds. The Academy has approximately 400 children on roll, including the Nursery. 

The role:

The appointed Learning Assistant will be required to work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or with small groups of children with special educational needs. You will be a professional role model to the pupils, with the confidence to challenge and the creativity to motivate. 


We are looking for someone who has:

Relevant knowledge and experience of working with pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with dyslexia.

The ability to use their initiative and personalise the pupil's learning to meet their academic and well-being needs.

The ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, parents and outside agencies as well as participate in annual reviews, contributing to meetings regarding the pupils learning and progress.

A working knowledge of the National Curriculum and experience in KS2.

A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
