We are seeking to appoint a 1:1 Specialist Teaching Assistant to start in September 2021. The post holder will work with, and under the direction of, the Head of Section, Head of Learning Support and School Nurse to support an individual student’s (Year 7) learning, medical, and general needs, in line with the student’s agreed Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We envisage this 1:1 Specialist Teaching Assistant role to account for 60% of the post-holder’s time. For the remaining %, the post-holder will be deployed to general teaching /administrative support duties across a range of departments.
This is a new post for which specific partial funding has been provided by a local authority. Therefore, this post will initially be offered on a one year fixed-term basis, for review and possible extension in March 2022. This is a term-time only position, working throughout the school day, and may also include some lunch time and after school hours, in support of the individual student’s timetable.
