Job overview

Vision for Education are recruiting for an experienced, resilient and motivated Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a secondary aged student at a school in North Tyneside. The suitable Teaching Assistant must be comfortable supporting students who display challenging and sometimes confrontational behaviour. The candidate will also have an empathetic and nurturing personality. Experience working with young people who have Social, Emotional or Mental Health difficulties would be preferred.

If you have previously been involved with youth work, either in an outreach or youth centre setting, we would be very interested in hearing from you.

The role is to begin on 4th June and will run until the summer holidays. Due to the immediate start, having a DBS on the Update Service would be very beneficial to your application.

A requirement for this position will be a Team Teach qualification. These training sessions will take place on the 4th and 5th of June from 5pm till 8pm each evening and will be free of charge. You must be able to attend both sessions to be suitable for this position.

The ideal applicant will have the following attributes:

  • Previous experience in working with young people who have challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient and nurturing personality.
  • An empathetic attitude towards young people who have complex needs.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Be available 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.
