New College Durham Academies Trust comprises of two large Academies, Consett Academy and North Durham Academy, located some six miles apart in North West Durham. New College Durham, is our lead sponsor and both Academies are located in multi million pound new builds, offering unrivalled state of the art facilities for our students and communities in Consett and Stanley.
This is an exciting time to join us – having just made some key appointments, including a new Senior Leadership Team, headed up by an Executive Principal and recently appointed Chair of Governors. The Trust are currently looking to recruit a number of 1:1 tutors to provide bespoke teaching and learning and by doing so, maximise student potential.
1:1 Tutors (English, Mathematics and Science)
Salary: £25 per hour for those with Qualfied Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent or £15 ph for non QTS. This rate includes PPA allowance and holiday entitlement
The ideal candidate(s) will have the ability to teach creatively adapting to the needs of each leaner and must have good core subject knowledge. You must be open minded / nonjudgmental and have the ability to build a rapport quickly in order to achieve the best results.
We would particularly welcome applications from individuals who:
- hold qualified teacher status, or are a qualified HE or FE teacher;
- are able to demonstrate a track record of effective teaching;
- are able to demonstrate that you can work with individual students to progress their learning in English, Maths or Science;
- have subject specific knowledge of English, Maths or Science at KS4
This role would be particularly suited to those who wish to have a degree of flexibility in their teaching commitment – however a minimum of 10-15 hrs per week would be required.
