Job overview

Due to the continuing success of our ‘Music’sCool’ Programme, we are seeking classroom music specialists to join our team of tutors delivering music in Primary Schools throughout Brent. ‘Music’sCool’ follows a syllabus which allows flexibility in terms of teaching material and includes whole-class singing, recorder, ukulele, and drumming. Whilst ‘Music’sCool’ covers Nursery to Yr.6, it may be possible for teachers to concentrate on a preferred Key Stage. There are also opportunities for string teachers to teach whole class violin. All teachers receive ongoing training and support to deliver the programme.

The successful applicants will be dynamic, enthusiastic team players who are able to use their own initiative while inspiring children with a love of music. An ability to teach an instrument from beginner level is an advantage as there may also be some instrumental teaching available as part of the timetable. This job would be ideal for: instrumental tutors looking to work in the classroom, secondary music teachers or those with previous primary school whole class music teaching experience.    An earlier starting date may be possible depending on demand.

Interviews: Week of 15th January
