Job overview

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic teacher for our NextGen Games Design, Animation & VFX Course.  We are one of the rare colleges delivering this brand-new course and this is a great time to join. We are looking for someone to teach level 2/3 students and has a strong focus on student learning and development.

The ideal candidate will strive to be an outstanding practitioner, with up-to-date knowledge and experience of current Games, Animation and VFX industry practice.  Be able to plan and deliver high quality classes that enthuse and inspire learners to achieve to their full potential and prepare them for a career in the Games, Animation or VFX industries.  

 Candidate Skillset

• Programming fundamentals, Games development, 3D Tools and Animation, Emerging trends and technology.

• Python, C#, Unity and/or Unreal. Maya or other 3D (eg. Blender) as well as some Adobe After Effects. 

• Knowledge of the maths and logic rules used in game development.

• Recent industry experience along with up-to-date knowledge of the FE sector would be advantageous. 

• Willingness to improve on knowledge and skills while teaching.

We require someone with excellent teamwork and communication skills to ensure the duties associated with this post are met in full.  The successful candidate will have a BA (Hons) in a Games Design or relevant specialism. A UK recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, DTLLS or Cert ED or willing to achieve a teaching qualification within three years, if not already held.   

 

The post is based at Wood Street campus
