We are looking to appoint an inspirational teacher in PE, who can challenge every student to achieve their very best. The position will suit experienced or newly qualified teachers.

● Qualified Teacher Status

● Ability to teach lessons that challenge all students

Main duties for this role will include:

● Being accountable for student progress and development.

● Taking a lead in planning collaboratively with colleagues in order to promote effective practice.

● Ensuring the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.

● Day to day management, control and operation of course provision, including effective deployment of staff, budget and physical resources.

● Keeping up to date with national developments in subject areas, teaching practice and methodology.

St Helena School has a research-informed CPD training programme that allows our staff to flourish and in addition a bespoke programme for NQTs.  Our St Helena School Research Internships give colleagues the opportunity to research a school priority and to work with students and staff to further improve outcomes.  Our staff access the full suite of NPQ leadership courses and qualifications at the appropriate stage in their careers.  Weekly Teaching and Learning briefings and our half-termly Teaching And Learning Community breakfasts make sure that we’re always talking about what matters most!

In addition to internal CPD at St Helena, staff have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the Sigma Trust to share resources, ideas and build collaborative relationships.  Excellent support is provided by the Sigma Trust through Strategic Leads in each Faculty. 

Opportunities are available to teach at Key Stage 5 at a partner school.  Our annual Sigma INSET day is an opportunity to hear from national speakers and share great practice across our family of schools.
