An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and committed 2nd in charge of Business Studies (responsibilities to be agreed at interview), that can support the leadership of a very successful and highly regarded department within our Academy. Due to outstanding levels of achievement the department continues to grow year on year.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing high quality teaching and learning at GCSE and A-Level, and a working knowledge of some or all of the below would be advantage;
- Certificate of Financial Education
- Personal Finance
- BTEC Business
- Accounting A-Level
The Ockendon Academy is a high performing, oversubscribed Academy which is constantly challenging itself to improve even further. We were rated as Good with Outstanding features by Ofsted in 2014, with behaviour rated as Outstanding.
Business Studies delivers excellent results across a wide range of level 2 and level 3 qualifications including Economics, Accounting, Finance and Business. The department also has a strong commitment to extra-curricular activities and enterprise events such as Thurrock’s Next Top Boss and has links to high profile industry partners such as Coca-Cola, Barclays and Ford.
Business Studies is located within our state of the art Studio School and Sixth Form centre which enjoys excellent facilities and is equipped with the latest technology. The building is designed to reflect the workplace and includes a large open place business centre which students use for project work, private study and networking.
