The Deanery is a Secondary Academy in the heart of the growing canal side community of Wichelstowe, located on the southern edge of the town of Swindon in South West England. constructed from late 2006. Located north of the M4 motorway
The Deanery opened in 2019, and along with Kingfisher Academy which opened it's door in September 2021, forms part of the Wichelstowe Trinity Learning Campus and is part of the Diocese of Bristol Academies Trust .
The Trust was established in 2012 and has steadily grown to currently comprise of 15 Primary Academies and one Secondary.
Our vision is to be a Trust of exceptional academies with strong Christian ethos which provide a values-led education and opportunities for all children to flourish and achieve their fullest potential. We aim for all our academies to be schools of choice, with good or better Ofsted and SIAMS grades, and will work with local communities, staff, children, parents, churches & the wider Diocesan family to achieve this.
As we move into our fifth year, we are seeking an enthusiastic English educator who is looking to take their first steps into leadership of the subject, working alongside the Head of English to provide excellence and develop the curriculum.
We believe that we have a duty to enable all our students to flourish when they are at school, to enable them to live life in all its fullness- this is the foundation of our ethos and will form a significant part of our dialogue in all aspects of school life. You should therefore be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and understanding next steps in the given subject.

The Deanery CE Academy is a new school in the heart of the community of Wichelstowe, Swindon. Just 10 minutes from J16 on the M4. We have the most amazing facilities on site at the Wichelstowe Trinity Learning Campus, and beyond within our wonderful new community. We have a vibrant Hall & Woodhouse pub just over the road, and a Waitrose just a short walk across the canal.
Due to the growth of this new school, we are looking for exceptional people to join us on this journey and to support the children we serve. We can offer you structured CPD, support with your teaching leadership development. In addition to this we can offer you the chance to shape a whole school curriculum in partnership with the leadership team.
