Exciting Opportunity for a 2nd in Science at UTC South Durham

NOR: up to 600              Age range: 14-19          Start Date September 2018

Can you develop an inspiring experience for our students? 

 University Technical College South Durham opened in September 2016 and is the first UTC in the North East. With a focus on advanced manufacturing and engineering it is located in the heart of Aycliffe Business Park, County Durham. It provides an excellent education for 14-19 year olds, encompassing real, relevant workplace experience in partnership with world-class companies.  

 As a Science department our goal is to deliver outstanding teaching and assessment of learning, through a high quality, engaging curriculum, setting high expectations and inspiring our students through making the subject relevant to the world of work.  As Second in Science you will play a lead role in helping us achieve those ambitions.  You will be able track student progress accurately and be confident in the use of analysis tools / software, e.g. SISRA.   

You will be passionate about your subject and will have a proven track record of high quality Science teaching at GCSE level. You should be able to demonstrate very successful outcomes at KS4 and possibly beyond. You will be confident in your ability to teach all three Sciences to GCSE level. You’ll build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

University technical colleges are state-funded technical schools that give students the skills they need to innovate and invent. UTC South Durham is the first UTC in the North East. It opened in 2016 with the aim of providing vital training in advanced manufacturing and engineering.
