Job overview
We are looking for teachers who can join our team which helps nursery children with their 4+ assessments to selective independent schools.
We have a growing business in this area with our own pedagogy and are getting some stunning results. We typically get 80% of our applicants into schools such as Highgate, Alleyn's, DUCKS, JAGS, North London Collegiate and UCS. We traditionally work with a blend of employed staff (as with these roles) and also with more peripatetic staff who are still teaching and work at the weekends (if you are interested in this then please do contact us).
Our staff roles spend around 33% of their time with children helping them improve their behavioural skills and early academic skills. About 33% of the time is with parents coaching them on how to be better parents and giving them skills to support their chidlren. The remainder of the time is spent on lesson planning and advancing our pedagogy.
We have several roles available and are open to both part time and full time applicants.
All our staff work for at least 20 weeks a year on either Saturday or Sunday morning (with dates at their discretion) at either our Dulwich or Hampstead sites. These days can either accrue additional holiday or be a part of your contract - whichever you prefer.
Midweek our office is based in Clapham which is where the role would be mostly based but we are likely to open a Hampstead venue midweek for a day or two a week if we get the right candidate.
While we are open to part time, we do not do remote working or wfh arrangements as we believe that teams who work together, thrive together.
Our base pay is £35k for full time candidates but there is a substantial bonus element which we expect to be around £10k-15k per year. This has a blend of sales, utilisation and company bonus and most of it pays out on a monthly basis.
Our team culture is great fun. We have an annual ski weekend for all staff. We take the team to Royal Ascot every year. We have a weekly bootcamp on the common. We organise and fund many other social events.
Our company is unashamedly ethical and well run. We set up and run the Afghan College for Girls which is the largest provider of education in Afghanistan. Our company has won the industry awards' prize for best tutoring company for two of the past three years.
Our typical candidate is someone who has worked in a school which has the 4 plus assessment and either been a teacher or a high level teaching assistant. They are either an EYFS or a KS1 teacher and are comfortable around pre reception aged children.
Teachers who work well here are those who love children, can advise parents and are comfortable with change as we are constantly improving our pedagogy and our service offering.
We appreciate that this is an unusual role and in an unusual company and would welcome potential applicants contacting us in advance to discuss the role if that it helpful.
