The College wishes to appoint a skilled, competent, authoritative, and well-organised individual to work closely with the Head of the LRC and liaise with relevant Heads of Department and pastoral teams, to ensure delivery of an outstanding service within the Learning Resource Centre to those students identified in need of formal academic mentoring during their supervised study periods throughout the week.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
- To plan, collate, deliver, and monitor appropriate learning activities in the LRC for our students who have withdrawn from academic subjects, during term-times, with a preference for the Academic Mentor being on-site from 0900-1300 for this purpose. (The College is open to flexibility around this requirement, including the number of hours worked per week, for the right individual)
- Ensuring an effective learning environment in all areas of the LRC, especially within the Academic Mentoring space, taking pride in its educational atmosphere for academic, collaborative, and independent learning.
- During periods of time with no students in need of mentoring in the LRC, covering the staffing of the LRC, or other timetabled lessons in the College, together with the Learning Supervisor.
