Learning Support at Notre Dame

At Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College we are extremely proud of all our students’ achievements, especially the individual progression that they each make in their time with us.

The College is seeking to appoint a high performing and enthusiastic individual to the role of Academic Mentor. This will be to undertake small group tuition with both Level 2 and Level 3 learners. It is a cross-College role and is funded through the government’s 16-19 tuition fund. Ideally, the candidate would be a subject specialist in a subject which is currently offered by the College. We also have a position for an Academic Mentor to offer study skills sessions with a focus on revision techniques and examination preparation.

Our aim is to offer a ‘World Class Catholic Education’ by providing the best care, support and outcome for each individual student. The role is to support students who have been disadvantaged throughout the Covid19 and to provide a range of integrated, responsive, student centered support services for a range of learners. This is a cross-College role and will   enable our learners to more fully access the educational opportunities offered by the College, with local delivery where required, so as to meet the needs of all learners.

The role provides a highly professional approach whilst also being relaxed and friendly. There is a strong emphasis on encouraging an easy rapport between staff and students while maintaining a business-like approach to work. The College continues to develop a whole college approach to inclusivity, with staff and students working together.

Further information including the full job description and person spec can be found in the post description (detailed in the Applicant Information pack).

Closing date: 9am on Monday 26th September 2022.

It is intended that interviews will take place as soon as possible after the closing date.

The College is committed to Safeguarding and promotes the welfare of young people and expects all staff, students and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a satisfactory Social Media check.

In promoting equal opportunities, we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
