This is a school on the march and we need a Principal, but moreover, we need an inspirational role model, who, with an unrelenting focus on raising standards, can build on the success to date, galvanise stakeholders and seize the opportunity to move the school forward.
From a P8 of -0.64 and Ofsted judgement of Serious Weaknesses in 2016, AVA has improved strongly each year to a P8 of 0.2 in 2019 and was judged to be Good by Ofsted in January 2019 for the first time in the history of the school. Pupil Premium students outperform national at KS4, as do our KS5 students. KS2 children are slightly below National currently.
In this 2-19 all-through stand-alone academy sponsored by the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education, you will need to show an impressive track record of institutional change, as an inspirational and compelling leader, who makes a difference in the lives of children and young people.
If you can show that you can take this academy from strength to strength and perhaps increase the sphere of influence beyond a single school, then this could be the next step in your career.
This is a tough job and it will taken an extraordinary individual to harness the talented workforce and fantastic student body to achieve greater success.
In this inclusive, non-selective 2-19 academy, the Governing Body is restless for further improvement. Our aim is to offer truly outstanding education to all our children and young people.
We would actively encourage potential applicants to visit the academy. Please email Mrs E Perrin email@example.com to arrange a visit.
Applicants should note that the school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be requried to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
