Job overview

At Castilion Primary School a unique opportunity has arisen for an outstanding candidate with a proven track record of success to play a key strategic role in shaping and delivering on the next stage of the Academy’s journey.

Castilion is a popular two form entry Primary school. The school is a valued and active part of Amadeus Primary Academies Trust and is located in North Thamesmead in Bexley. The wider Trust is comprised of five other successful primary academies based in the boroughs of Bexley and Bromley.

Following the retirement of the existing Head of Academy, the Trustees of APAT are looking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Academy Principal who will continue to build upon and further develop the recent academic, and administrative successes of the Academy. The school’s ethos sits firmly alongside the Trust vision of ‘Limitless Learning Together’, with the school both benefiting from and benefiting the wider Trust and its communities. We are looking for someone who has strong educational values and will reinforce these key aspects, in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.

Castilion Primary is a high achieving school, known locally for a history of success both academically and creatively. We have an excellent reputation in our local community with a strong, broad and balanced curriculum that embraces the beauty of our local area and celebrates diversity and creativity. We were rated as  ‘Good’ in all areas in July 2018 and have built on our successes together with the Trust since this. We have a strong ethos with highly qualified and dedicated staff, evidenced by high retention levels, who believe in supporting the development of successful, well-rounded children who will become positive members of the community.

If you share our vision and passion for young people, are passionate about raising educational attainment and standards, and helping young people reach their full potential, you can make the difference at Castilion Primary and the Amadeus Primary Academies Trust.
