Job overview

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an alternative provision in the Gateshead area for an Access and Inclusion Lead. 

This is a customer facing post which will actively promote the educational aims and ethos of the Academy and further develop support services and relationships to schools. The Access and Inclusion Lead will work as part of the middle leadership team to ensure effective management of the procedures and systems of referrals, integration and reintegration of pupils. They will attend pupil inclusion panel and be part of professional discussions surrounding placements within the Academy Trust.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The accurate referral of pupils into the correct setting
  • The management of admissions meetings and baseline assessment procedures and the sharing of information with staff
  • The accurate information input of admissions and reintegration information on School Base
  • Managing the timetabling and staffing effective program of re-integration and support
  • Leading and management of review meetings
  • Leading and managing managed moved and other transitional programmes
  • Coordinating the collection of appropriate learner data and assisting in the preparation of reports to panels such as the SEN Panel.


KEY TASKS:

Access and Referral

  • To ensure referral documents are completed and accurate and deadlines are adhered to
  • To lead at pupil inclusion panel and be the gatekeeper to all Academy services 
  • To communicate effectively with SLT at local schools regarding the access decisions in a timely and professional manner 
  • Quality assure access minutes and agendas 
  • To maintain accurate up to date records and provide reports to SLT as required.
  • To manage PEX and Partnership places effectively working to LA ‘identified places’ in accordance with professional ratios and health and safety regulations.
  • To manage pupil numbers in line with local authority funding, school needs and budget allocations
