About the role

Reporting to Supervisor: Accounts Payable, the position of Accounts Payable Clerk  will be responsible for performing the accounts payable function consisting of the management and processing of invoices, processing corporate cards, payment runs and liaising with suppliers and customers.

The function also assists in ensuring accounts payable guidelines and policies are followed whilst providing support services to administrative staff and other team members to enable efficient operation of the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • acting as the first point of call for accounts payable queries
  • processing the following in the system accurately and within assigned timeframes:
  • Accounts payable data entry
  • electronic funds transfers
  • year-end accounting duties
  • vendor maintenance
  • reconciling monthly creditor statements and following up on variances/unpaid invoices
  • ensuring invoice details are processed with accurate data with a correlating purchase order and compliant with GST legislation.

About you

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • minimum 2 years’ experience in a Finance related support role including but not limited to accounts payable
  • basic understanding of the double entry system (Debits and Credits)
  • knowledge of GST requirements and Tax Invoices
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • good analytical and problem solving skills
  • invoice processing skills
  • strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines
  • highly developed organisational skills and good record keeping
  • ability to work in a team and work under limited direction
  • advanced PC skills including CIA, Excel and Google Docs
  • good decision making skills.
