We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic teacher to join us as Achievement Leader for the Year 7 and 8 phase at King Edward VI School. The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced tutors and will take responsibility for the academic progress, behaviour and welfare of students in the year group as they progress through the school, overseeing the transition from Year 6 and taking a cohort from Year 7 through to Year 8. The role provides significant opportunities to develop and share excellent practice in supporting staff and students, and is well suited to those with aspirations towards senior leadership.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher and leader with a pro-active approach and excellent communication skills. As Achievement Leader, you will have a strategic role working alongside middle and senior leaders to maximise student achievement. The school welcomes applications from candidates with proven departmental or pastoral leadership skills in their current role. External candidates would need to offer Maths or PE as a subject specialism. For external candidates the ability to deliver either Maths or PE would be an advantage.

King Edward VI School is a highly successful 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2022 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral city that is easily accessible from the surrounding areas. We have 250 students in Years 7-11 and a large, successful sixth form.
