Eckington School is a vibrant and rapidly improving 11-18 secondary school with 1,240 students on roll. It is set in a wonderful 42-acre site of rolling North East Derbyshire countryside, situated close to the centre of Sheffield and the Peak District National Park.

At Eckington School, we have high ambitions in all that we do, so not only do we expect students to strive to excel in their academic studies, but also to develop resilience and character, through all of school life: including exposure to wide-ranging extra-curricular activities, school trips, their studies and through their social and friendship groups. We want all of our students to leave Eckington School with a wide body of knowledge and skills, a strength of character, so they are best equipped for what comes next and can live an exceptional life

As part of LEAP Multi Academy Trust, “Achieving Excellence” is our overriding priority. We place students at the centre of everything we do, creating a culture of success and a love of learning which enhances students’ achievements and their personal, social and emotional development. Our ambitious and emerging Multi Academy Trust currently comprises of three secondary academies serving nearly 4000 young people, with the other two sister academies situated in Rotherham. This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious colleagues to be part of this journey.

We are seeking to appoint Achievement Support Assistants (Teaching Assistant) to start as soon as possible to work with groups of students at both KS3 and KS4, as well as with students who have specific special educational needs. We are looking for outstanding individuals who have the personal skills and drive to help students overcome their barriers to learning whether these are specific learning difficulties, emotional and social difficulties or medical disabilities. As a Achievement Support Assistant, you would maintain an overview of provision for student you are supporting, be a primary contact for parents and contribute to the Assess, Plan, Do and Review cycle for identified child with SEN. We would particularly welcome applications with strong primary Literacy and Numeracy experience to support our very low ability students. You would join a growing and rapidly improving Achievement Support Team, and be supported to further your career through training and development opportunities.

This role is ideally suited to a TA looking to progress their career to the next stage and take on a new challenge.

LEAP is an equal opportunity employer, committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and we seek to reflect modern Britain in our staff team.  We welcome applications from all suitably qualified and eligible candidates, regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, transgender status, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
