The key element of this post is to help students to overcome barriers to learning so that they can achieve their full potential.  The successful applicant should have experience of working with young people, preferably within a similar educational post. 

This ‘alternative provision’ role requires enthusiasm, tenacity, initiative to enable staff to engage and motivate young people who find standard classroom expectations a challenge. Achievement Support Practitioners will be ‘lead workers’ for a specific number of students and coordinate planning, reviewing the impact of provision with subject teachers.

Brinsworth Academy is the founding member academy of the Learning Engagement and Achievement Partnership MAT, which currently comprises 3 secondary schools and is now seeking to expand.

Brinsworth Academy is a 2022 Ofsted "Good" 11-18 academy, situated near Rotherham in South Yorkshire. There are 1,435 students on the academy roll, including over 200 students in the sixth form. It gained academy status in October 2010 and is part of the LEAP Multi-Academy Trust. It also has a specialism in science.
