Hours:              37 hours per week

Are you great at planning and organising? Are you brilliant at record keeping? Do you combine this with a really clear understanding of how to support young people with the analytical skills and a fastidious approach to make sure things get done?

You will be someone who does things right and has an eye for detail.

Due to the development of Bramfield House School and expansion planning, we are now looking for a dynamic and energetic Achievement and Pastoral development leader

There is a certain kind of person who combines the skills we need for this new and exciting post. Your experience and passion for young people will bring about enhanced life opportunities for boys through your management of intervention programs across the school and through the invention of a pastoral approach.

About the Role:

This is your chance to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of boys experiencing educational (and potentially other) difficulties. Supported by a brilliant and dedicated team, you’ll work closely with parents, young people, carers and the local authority to explore the circumstances and see how collaborative, effective, life-changing resolutions can be agreed and put into place. It will also be up to you to coordinate how they get the support and intervention they need, you will oversee our whole pastoral approach. You’ll draw on your broad knowledge of resources and approaches to help direct staff to provide the support that they really need.

You will oversee a team of Pastoral managers and will co-ordinate their work with the work of social intervention assistants. You will drive the pastoral system and sit at the top table when advising how to get the best out of young people.

You’ll definitely have Care experience to at least level 3 and will have recent experience of working on risk management, positive behaviour support planning and documentation. You will be driven by genuine empathy and understanding.

You will be able to spot details that others can’t see and you will enjoy working on documentation as much as with the young people. You will have management experience.

One thing is for sure, you’ll be a very positive and emotionally intelligent person who is striving to achieve excellence and wants to progress within the organisation.

Bramfield House School stands in magnificent grounds and gives pupils extraordinary educational opportunities through its innovative, successful teaching approach inside and outside the classroom.

The rural location, just off the main A12 in Suffolk, attracts interest for places across East Anglia to achieve happiness and success for even the most reluctant learners and vulnerable pupils.

The boys are taught in small, informal and relaxed classes, with clear structures in place. They forge strong working relationships with teachers and staff, who encourage their self-confidence and self esteem through stimulating and realistic targets. Previous failure is replaced with a positive pattern of success and quantifiable educational achievements.

As well as practical and creative lessons on site, including sports pitches and an RHS accredited horticulture department, Bramfield House offers the boys a huge variety of opportunities for education outside the classroom, including sailing qualifications on the Norfolk Broads, study along the East Anglian coastline, and numerous field trips.

Securing a weekly boarding place at Bramfield House will ensure that progress can be accelerated with a 24-hour, wraparound curriculum. The comfortable boarding facilities are located in the main house until the boys reach Years 10 and 11, when the emphasis develops towards semi-independent living, and preparation for life at college, an apprenticeship, university or work.

As well as academic, educational progress, Bramfield House School develops self- esteem, self confidence to ensure its pupils can go on to lead meaningful and successful adult lives.
