Activities Leader

We are now looking to recruit enthusiastic, dedicated and creative Activity Leaders for our Summer School Courses running at Abbey College in Malvern between June and August (contracts vary from two to eleven weeks). Activity Leaders will plan, prepare and lead sports, drama and arts and crafts activities to groups of students each afternoon and play a key part in organising evening events. They will also monitor activities being led by other staff (archery, fencing, horse riding), assist on excursions, airport responsibilities and undertake pastoral duties.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Keen interest in sports/drama/arts and crafts
  • Experience organising/supervising/leading activities and events
  • Ability to lead with confidence
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Good team player
  • Proficiency in time management
  • Ability to multitask and work to deadlines

Desirable:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children/teenagers
  • Qualified lifeguard
  • Coaching experience
  • Residential experience

Abbey College is a mixed, independent, non-denominational, secondary international boarding school, situated on a 70-acre campus in Malvern, Worcestershire. There are 49 students aged 14-19 on the school roll, 46 of whom are boarding students. 

The site of the current Abbey College has been used for education since 1874, with the original main building built in 1863. Facilities now include a library, computer rooms, three science laboratories, 15 classrooms, common room areas, cinema, disco, multi-gym and sporting facilities.
