St Dominic’s School is part of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust (OHC&AT), a specialist Trust with 12 Academies and 7 College Centres across London, Surrey and Sussex.
We are a special school in Surrey and provide education for pupils and students aged 7-19, typically with a primary diagnosis of Autism or social communication difficulties. Our school is located in the beautiful village of Hambledon, close to Witley, Milford, Guildford and Godalming. We have views of the Surrey hills and plenty of outdoor space, including access to the common and a Forest School site. Please visit https://stdominicsschool.org.uk/ for a virtual tour of our school.
We are seeking to appoint a confident and self-motivated individual to provide specialist skills and knowledge to ensure that pupils and students who have numeracy-related special educational needs or other needs affecting numeracy make progress.
You will conduct ongoing numeracy assessments of pupils and students to ensure that interventions are matched effectively.
This will involve planning, preparing and delivering numeracy learning programmes and monitoring the pupils/students by assessing, recording and reporting on their achievements, progress and development.
Applicants need to possess strong numeracy skills and will be required to sit a maths skill test as part of the interview process.
Where necessary, training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting is essential.
Benefits include: free car parking, lunch provided on site, Employee Assistance Programme and membership to Perkbox.
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Val Walsh, Head of Maths at vwalsh@stdominicsschool.org.uk
Please note that CV applications will not be considered.
Closing date: 12 noon, Friday 28th January 2022
We may close this advert and interview before the closing date if we receive applications from exceptional candidates.
St Dominic’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
